Client-side delivery support for a national charity's website rebuild. Two hundred pages migrated, weekly client calls, and a launch that landed.

The challenge

Coeliac UK’s new website was being built by an agency, but partway through the project the charity lost its internal lead. With no technical owner on the client side, decisions stalled, content sign-off dragged across departments, and the agency was left without a clear point of contact.

Two hundred pages still needed migrating, restructuring, and approving before launch, and nobody inside the organisation had the time or the remit to drive that through.

What I did

I came in through an agency contact to be the technical owner the project was missing on the client side.

That meant running a weekly call with the Coeliac UK team, chasing sign-off across departments, and keeping a single list of open decisions so nothing got lost between meetings. When the agency needed an answer, they got one. When the charity had a problem with the build, I turned it into a ticket the agency’s developers could act on.

The hands-on work was content migration: over 200 pages moved from the old site into the new WordPress build, rebuilt page by page in the agency’s ACF block templates rather than pasted in as-is. Each page was checked against the original, restructured where the new templates called for it, and passed back to the relevant department for approval.

The outcome

The site launched with the full content set in place and the charity’s team able to manage it from day one. My involvement ended at launch, as planned: the agency kept ongoing support, and Coeliac UK had a site and a content structure that didn’t depend on me.
